Magnetic force has an influence on the performance of a balance. When magnetic samples are weighed, or if a magnetic stirring rod is weighed with samples, the weighing result can deviate from the true weight value. The position of the magnetic field can lead to discrepancies of more than 20 digits compared to the true weight of the sample. Such discrepancies may remain undetected because of the stable result output of the balance. The Magnetic Protection Shield (MPS) weighing pan blocks the interference of a magnetic stir bar on the weighing performance and leads to reproducible accurate results. |
